The following can be grounds for cancellation:
- proprietary rights
- the mark is generic
- the mark is not distinctive
- the mark is functional
- the mark is misleading, deceptive or disparaging
- bad faith
- the mark is against public policy or principles of morality
- the mark has been abandoned
- the mark is prohibited in this jurisdiction
- additional grounds depending on the circumstances of each case
